G2 Ranks Outlaw the #1 Momentum Leader for Contract Management — Here’s What the Top Spot Means

Recently, G2, the world’s leading software review site, released their Spring 2021 Grid® reports, and announced that Outlaw has outpaced all our competitors to claim the #1 spot on the Momentum Grid for Contract Management.

According to G2, the Momentum Grid® highlights high-trajectory products software buyers need to know in an ever-evolving tech landscape. Ranked based on user satisfaction scores, employee growth, and digital presence, the grid identifies products that are outpacing industry growth by delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of their users.

The story behind Outlaw: transcending boundaries

Over the last few years, we’ve been asked about the story and meaning behind our name Outlaw. While we do have a straightforward answer, there are really two parts to that story.

The more direct (and humorous) answer, is that our co-founders Evan Schneyer and Dan Dalzotto actually met each other when they were dating sisters. Since both couples aren’t bound by marriage, Evan and Dan have always joked about them being brothers out-law, rather than brothers in-law. When the pair found a collaborative synergy and a deep rooted problem they were both passionate about solving, Outlaw was born.

The second part to the story relates to the vision and mission behind Outlaw’s product. According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, an “Outlaw” means a person who has broken the law or one that is unconventional or rebellious. Of course, we’re not doing anything illegal here, but we are breaking boundaries and standards.

At Outlaw, we’re transcending what’s been done in traditional contract management, to provide a better, more collaborative and intuitive way for modern teams to contract online. And this started right from the very beginning, when the foundation of Outlaw was laid. Outlaw’s platform was built and designed, not by referencing what’s been done or not done in the contract management domain, but by building up from what we thought was required to solve the problem.

When others focused on designing incrementally better solutions centered around Word, we knew it wasn’t the right tool to handle the complex demands of a contract. By adopting a beginner’s mind, Outlaw differentiates ourselves today with a bespoke structured data format, an intelligent contract authoring environment, and a customizable workflow system that stands out in a crowded space. Features like conditionality, batch generation, and collaborative concurrency have provided our users with a contract experience that has been dubbed “magical”.

Innovation is in Outlaw’s DNA, and momentum is building. Today, thousands of users from innovative teams like Intrado, Beyond Pricing and EVgo, use Outlaw to create a more resilient and seamless contract ecosystem for their business.

Of course, to sustain and build on momentum requires massive action and most of all, commitment.

So what’s next? This year, on top of a bold and dense roadmap, Outlaw will be launching a Microsoft Word Add-In, available to all paying customers. This will enable our customers to have a one-click “sync” — making it even easier to keep the version management and contract repository on Outlaw fully faithful to an underlying offline deal process, while also continuing to seamlessly leverage Outlaw’s powerful collaboration features… all while working from inside Microsoft Word.
